In Support of Black-led Organizations Fighting for Social Justice and Equity

If ever there was a moment where our words seem illogical, insufficient, and unworthy—if ever there was a moment where our actions counted—that moment is now. We know that we cannot bring back the countless lives of black women, men and transgender people who have suffered from police violence, and whose deaths by law enforcement, or other violent and hateful means, have not received justice, and who most certainly did not deserve to die. As we, as a greater public, awaken and acknowledge the systemic racism that is the foundation of our nation, we have a choice to make: to take action or be complicit to these atrocities. We must demand accountability in all levels of government, in our communities, and of ourselves.
We are emboldened by the efforts of these Black-led organizations advocating for crucial and fundamental change and want to support these endeavors. We at CULT are committed to supporting and contributing to organizations that fight for justice, safety, equal rights, respect and resources for people of color. We demand economic, racial and social justice, and call for full eradication of police terror.
Today we launch Beyond Words, a fundraising online exhibition supporting the following organizations with incredible donations of art from our community; 100% of sales proceeds will go to support these very crucial social justice efforts. We encourage you to join us.

Campaign Zero wants to help us live in a world where the police don't kill people. Funds donated to Campaign Zero support the analysis of policing practices across the country, research to identify effective solutions to end police violence, technical assistance to organizers leading police accountability campaigns and the development of model legislation and advocacy to end police violence nationwide.
The Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment is a multi-racial, democratic, non-profit community organization that builds power to fight and stand for economic, racial and social justice. We take seriously our commitment to ground-up organizing to build a strong people’s movement that can create transformative community change.
The Anti Police-Terror Project is a Black-led, multi-racial, intergenerational coalition that seeks to build a replicable and sustainable model to eradicate police terror in communities of color. We support families surviving police terror in their fight for justice, documenting police abuses and connecting impacted families and community members with resources, legal referrals, and opportunities for healing. APTP began as a project of the ONYX Organizing Committee.
National Bail Out is a Black-led and Black-centered collective of abolitionist organizers, lawyers and activists building a community-based movement to support our folks and end systems of pretrial detention and ultimately mass incarceration. We are people who have been impacted by cages — either by being in them ourselves or witnessing our families and loved ones be encaged. We are queer, trans, young, elder, and immigrant.
Black Mamas Matter Alliance is a Black women-led cross-sectoral alliance. We center Black mamas to advocate, drive research, build power, and shift culture for Black maternal health, rights, and justice.
Black Trans Advocacy Coalition (BTAC) is the only national organization led by black trans people to collectively address the inequities faced in the black transgender human experience. BTAC, through our national advocacy center and affiliate state chapters work daily to end discrimination and inequities faced in health, employment, housing and education to improve the lived experience of transgender people. BTAC’s work is based in peace building, community education, public policy initiatives, empowerment programs and direct services.
Black Voters Matter Fund is mobilizing to increase power in black communities. Effective voting allows communities to determine their own destiny. This is done by increasing voter registration and turnout, advocating for policies to expand voting rights and access, advocating for policies that intersect with race, gender and economic justice, and through development of infrastructure to build and support candidate development.
Color of Change is an evolving, dynamic culture with a fire for increasing impact. Our work is as strong as our people are innovative and persistent—a fresh, talented team spread across Oakland, New York, Hollywood and Washington, D.C. We grow our talent through staff development, as well as new hires and partnerships. We care about talent because increasing talent increases impact: winning more campaigns, taking on new issues, strengthening our public voice, and finding news ways to build greater power for Black people in all the places we need it.
Beyond Words is accessible online from June 29 through July 25, 2020. This exhibition is presented in collaboration with ArtLogic.
